The IRBV grants committee has received nine applications for this year’s Marie-Victorin Excellence Award, a grant of $5000 given annually to an IRBV student at the Ph.D. level.
The committee wants to emphasize the excellence of every research project that has been submitted and the care that went into the quality of every presentation. It is very proud of the work of every applicant, each one deserved to receive the award.
The 2017 Marie-Victorin Excellence Award is awarded to Julie Faure, student under the supervision of Simon Joly, for her Ph.D. project titled Étude des relations plantes-pollinisateurs et de l’évolution de la pollinisation chez les Gesneriaceae antillaises. The committee has picked Julie for the excellence of her academic record, the quality of the presentation of her project, its originality as well as her volunteer implication in the scientific education of young girls.
The grant will be officially given during the event Célébrer les arts et les sciences at the Université de Montréal, on Tuesday 21 November.
