Andrew Blakney receives the Marie-Victorin excellence award

The 2021 Marie-Victorin excellence award goes to Andrew Blakney, a Ph.D. student in the laboratory of Mohamed Hijri, co-supervised by Marc St-Arnaud. In his innovative Ph.D. project he studied the evolution of microbial communities through short and long temporal scales. It is already clear that Andrew has a promising career ahead of him. Congratulations!

Eight applications were received for this year’s award and the committee had a long debate before reaching a decision. All applications were excellent, bearing witness to the excellence of the IRBV students, of which we are immensely proud.
