Radio-Canada’s “La semaine verte” features the Marie-Victorin Herbarium’s move

In January 2012, the Marie-Victorin Herbarium was relocated to its new home in the Université de Montréal’s Biodiversity Centre. Founded by Brother Marie-Victorin, the herbarium is the fourth largest in Canada and one of the Université de Montréal’s most significant collections, with 675,000 terrestrial plant specimens (mosses and vascular plants). In the May 5th episode of “La semaine verte”, curator Luc Brouillet discussed the herbarium’s heritage and scientific value, and the importance of preserving it for future generations.
